Project Data-
Date: 1999
Size: 2+/- acres
Context: Multi-story public housing for the elderly

Project Description:
Gaylord Towers, located in Bristol, Connecticut, is a multi-story public housing facility for elderly residents. The purpose of this project is to provide specific improvements about the site to enhance outdoor livability. The new improvements include an outdoor hexagonal pavilion with moveable picnic tables, a smaller drying yard with new drying racks, two seating areas, and several different planting areas. All of the improvements provide brighter colors in the landscape especially the planting areas, which introduce multi-seasonal color even in shady areas.

EDC Principal Thomas Elmore prepared the complete set of construction drawings with material specifications and planting schedule for TO Design, Landscape Architects & Engineers, the design firm of record. The work is currently under consideration by the Housing Authority.
